What is a nasal endoscopy?
Nasal endoscopy is a painless examination method in which the nasal cavity and nasal passages are examined with a thin, flexible endoscope .
Thanks to optical magnification, changes in the nasal mucosa, polyps, narrowing, or inflammation can be diagnosed precisely.
The examination takes only a few minutes and is usually performed without anesthesia. In individual cases, a local anesthetic spray may be used to increase comfort.
When is a nasal endoscopy performed?
- Chronic nasal breathing obstruction
- Recurring nosebleeds
- Suspicion of nasal polyps
- Chronic sinus inflammation
- Disorders of smell
- Suspicion of anatomical changes
- Follow-up care after nasal surgery
